Have you or someone you know ever suffered from Depression? Do you like organising events and being creative? Do you enjoy raising money to help organisations assist those most in need?
It's that time of the year again and we're recruiting enthusiastic and passionate members to assist with the 2012 Race Against Depression. The event is an Amazing Race styled fundraiser to raise money for Lifeline Australia. Volunteers will be given an active role in the event day proceedings, guiding participants and assisting in the completion of challenges during the event. This is a great opportunity for members to develop their team work and organisational skills while doing something amazing for Lifeline Australia.
If you are interested in volunteering or participating/fundraising in this fantastic event, please contact Amelia Choe or Will Funnell at community@monash.golden-key.org . Particpants, simply get a team of 2-3 together, decided on a team name and send your team name, contact phone number, participants names, D.O.B and a contact phone number to Amelia or Will before September 1st.

Currently learning or interested in learning a second language?
The 2012 Language Connection Conference on Saturday April 14 brings together learners and speakers of various languages so you can:
Improve your second language skills, andAt the conference, Japanese, Chinese and Korean speakers will mix together with local Australian language learners. You will have the opportunity to hear a keynote address about language and identity, participate in language and cultural exchange, and experience a range of events such as Wushu, Taekwondo, sushi making, origami, korean drama watching. You will be grouped with other participants throughout the day to learn and enjoy through cultural themed activities. Through these activities, you will not only make friends with local students and native speakers of your second language, but you will also get to speak your second language in a supportive and friendly environment.
